About this program

‘Spinning Alternative Tracks from RETRO to Today’

I borrow formats from Alternative radio stations of yesteryear that began during my College Radio days. A mix and a wonderful array of ‘Alternative’ music (Dance, Electronic, Goth, Industrial, Post-Punk, Reggae, SKA, ect.) and local Northwest artists from up and down the I-5 corridor. I have rotating segments within the show (Deep Cuts, Live Track of the Day, Locals Only, Then & Now). My goal is to provide you a show that is up-beat, informational and hopefully you’ll find yourself wanting to dance!

About the DJ

I grew up in Seattle suburbia in the 80’s where my love for alternative and local musicians were fed by great radio stations like KCMU, KJET, KYYX and the early days of KNDD (The End). Plus, hundreds of trips to Tower Records.

After high school I headed to college to learn the fine art of Broadcasting at Western Washington University in Bellingham and honed my craft at the campus radio station KUGS 89.3 FM.
After graduating and working in commercial radio for a number of years I discovered computers and turned away from the microphone and labored in IT for the next 20 years. My love of music and radio didn’t die and I kept up with my obsession of building my catalogue of music and even ran a pirate internet radio station for a few years (Shh!).

After fine tuning ‘The Wave Show’ on community radio for the last seven years on Vashon Island I am so blessed to join SPACE 101.1FM. I now has an outlet in the community I love to share my decades of musical knowledge and obsession with hyper local radio and the arts plus fulfill my childhood dream of broadcasting and entertaining listeners on Seattle’s air-waves.

If you have a request, suggestion or a North West artist that would like to be interviewed and featured on my ‘Locals Only’ segment, drop me a line at TheWaveShow@Outlook.com.
